A Milford man, currently serving a driving ban for getting behind the wheel of his car after smoking cannabis, was fined in court again this week, after admitting two counts of drugs possession.
Twenty-six-year-old Luke Amos Baillie, of Mastlebridge, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to plead guilty to possessing 2.7 grams of cannabis and 2 grams of cannabis resin, in Pembroke Dock, on December 5.
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told magistrates how police officers on mobile patrol in Front Street, had their attention drawn to Mr. Baillie’s Renault vehicle.
“The defendant seemed to be trying to hide something and when he was confronted by officers, he handed over what he described as weed and hash that he said belonged to him,” she explained.
Mr. Baillie’s solicitor, Katy Hanson, told the court that the matter could have serious implications on his employment as a supervisor at a restaurant in Tenby, as he was a personal licence holder.
“My client at the time was smoking cannabis regularly as he had personal problems, but has started the new year with a more positive outlook,” she said.
Magistrates fined Mr. Baillie £175 for the offence, and ordered him to pay costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
