A CLASSIC thriller, full of psychological intensity, is haunting the Torch Theatre this October in The Turn of the Screw. The Torch has chosen the suspenseful 1898 Henry James novel for its autumn production.

Artistic Director Chelsey Gillard said:

“I love a mystery, and this play is an absolute puzzle. The novella that the play is based on is one of the most famous stories of all time. It has been adapted into plays, operas, TV series and countless films.

“The story captures the imagination and haunts you. This version is also a chance for two really brilliant actors to show off their skills and give virtuoso performances – we’ll be announcing the cast soon, so keep your eyes peeled. Autumn is also the ideal time to gather inside and tell ghost stories and this play is full of ghosts!”

The Torch Theatre Company is renowned for its home-grown productions that feature local professional actors, and this story may seem eerily familiar as it was also the inspiration for the Netflix hit The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Chelsey added: “Come along if you love a good mystery, with some thrills and chills along the way. Like any Torch Theatre show expect brilliant actors and theatrical magic. The set design is already shaping up to be breathtaking.”

The Torch is also introducing a new approach to ticket prices for this production meaning that there are tickets available at every performance for just £18. You’ll have to book quickly to grab those £18 seats, because once they’re gone, they’re gone.

The Turn of the Screw will appear on the stage for a two week stint at the Milford Haven theatre: from Wednesday, October 8 to Saturday, October 25. To book tickets, visit torchtheatre.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01646 695267.
