A woman who launched a tirade of abuse towards door staff at a Pembroke nightclub and mimicked shooting them with a gun gesture has been handed a 12 month conditional discharge in court.
Thirty-four-year-old Lisa Marie Roberts, of City Road, Bristol, pleaded guilty to a charge of using threatening and abusive behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, when she appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
She also admitted a bail act offence, after failing to appear in court for a scheduled hearing on February 13.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that on January 13, Ms Roberts was ejected from the Paddles club in Pembroke for causing a ‘disturbance’.
“She tried to get back into the premises, and launched a tirade of foul and abusive language towards bouncers before standing in front of them, making a gun gesture with her finger and thumb, pretending to shoot them!
“Police officers attended and Ms Roberts who was drunk was still being abusive and was arrested soon after,” continued Mr. Pritchard-Jones, adding that the defendant had a long list of previous convictions.
Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told the court that his client should have been in court the previous week, but was admitted to A&E the day before she was due to appear.
“She apologises for her behaviour. At the time, she was intoxicated. She paid money to get into the club and was immediately removed, so argued as to why the premises took her money before then throwing her out!
“The things she said were unpleasant, but some of it was said in a jokey way. Pretending to make a gun was clearly not a serious gesture,” added Mr. Kelleher.
Magistrates told Ms Roberts that her disorderly behaviour was ‘completely unacceptable’ before giving her a 12 month conditional discharge, and ordering her to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
She was also fined £80 for the bail act offence.
