A Pembroke Dock man who failed to appear for a court hearing to face allegations of fraud has been issued with a warrant for his arrest.

Sixty-six-year-old Andrew Johnstone, of Front Street, accused of £131,000 of benefit fraud, was due to face three charges at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court, on Tuesday, but failed to appear.

The defendant is charged with dishonestly failing to disclose information to Pembrokeshire County Council that he was maintaining a common household with his partner Marylyn Katra, and claiming council tax benefits between October 1999 and March 2013; and another similar charge where he failed to disclose to the department of work and pensions of this information, and claimed income support between December 2004 and January 2012.

A further charge of fraud by false representation relating back to December 2011 was also made against Mr. Johnstone.

Magistrates issued a warrant without bail to secure the defendant’s attendance to court when he failed to appear for Tuesday’s hearing.
