FESTIVE season invitations began early this year for with several mini concerts in the run up to Christmas.

For the first time the choir was invited to Kensington Court, Steynton, where they were warmly welcomed by residents. In addition to seven songs from their own repertoire, choristers led several carols and the accompanist, the Rev William Lambert, also contributed a solo, ‘You Raise Me Up’. Final item was ‘Calon Lan’, at the special request of a resident, and a donation to the choir was made on behalf of residents by Rosemary Cooper.

The following Saturday the choir staged at Pembroke Castle during one of the Christmas Fayre days, again mixing their own items with carols. Mirelle Ryan, who has sung at several concerts this year, soloed with ‘Mary’s Boy Child’.

A few days later choristers – again sporting a variety of Christmas jumpers and ties – led carols at Cartef Cleddau in Pembroke Dock. Keeping order at each venue was Musical Director Juliet Rossiter with William Lambert at the keyboard and the MC was Matthew John.

A further visit to another local residential home was added to the choir’s schedule in the run-up to Christmas.
