A Fishguard man accused of benefit fraud will appear at Swansea Crown Court next month after admitting two charges.

Fifty-one-year-old John Hawes Horman Busch, of Pencaer, Goodwick, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to plead guilty to two charges of dishonestly failing to disclose information to the Department for Work and Pensions, to make a gain, namely claiming employment and support allowance.

Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that the claims for ESA were made between September, 2012 and August, 2014; and November, 2014 and May, 2016, when Mr. Busch was in receipt of earnings from self employment.

The claims led to an overpayment of £18,685.71 the court heard, with evidence to show that Mr. Busch was running a camping business from his own premises, and also undertaking further work with other companies.

Magistrates transferred the matter to Swansea Crown Court, with the defendant who was released on unconditional bail, ordered to appear at that court for a hearing on February 6.
