ANGLE RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat was launched on Friday evening (November 7) following reports of shouts for help near the end of Ward’s Pier, raising concern that someone might be in the water.
The crew was paged at 8.30pm after a member of the public reported hearing the calls. The all-weather lifeboat, which is currently operating temporarily from inside Milford Docks while improvements are carried out at the Port Authority jetty, was made ready to launch while the dock lock was prepared for their exit.
By 8.49pm, the lifeboat was on scene and began searching the area alongside two pilot boats and a police boat. Upon arrival, the crews found several people fishing safely from the end of Ward’s Pier.
After an extensive search with nothing found and no reports of anyone missing, the search was stood down at 9:15pm, and all units returned to station.
