At the start of the Covid pandemic, Tenby Town Council made arrangements so that meetings could continue online with Zoom meetings.

Despite the challenges, Council meetings have continued throughout the pandemic and will continue online for the time being.

An unexpected side-effect of the meetings being online is that town councillor Laurence Blackhall has been able to continue to attend meetings despite currently being in Withybush Hospital!

Clr. Blackhall has been in Withybush for the past nine weeks and is hoping to return to Tenby soon.

In the meantime he continues to keep up with events from Ward 8.

“When we proposed having online meetings 18 months ago I never expected it would mean that I could attend meetings whilst being in Withybush,” he remarked.

“It just goes to show that there are all sorts of options both now and in the future to allow ‘attendance’ at all sorts of meetings and events.

“As a Town Council we are looking at ways of making a number of buildings in Tenby more tech-enabled for the future and we have been consulting with local groups on how this technology can help them and isolated people in the future.”

Anyone interested in the tech-enabled buildings project should contact Clr. Blackhall through the Town Council offices at the De Valence.
