Visbility issues on the junction from Oakridge Acres to Heywood Lane, continue to cause concern for local councillors and residents alike.

Tenby Town Council member, Cllr Mrs. Rossiter recently highlighted the issue at a meeting, stating that she had been approached by residents in the area to look at road safety measures along Heywood Lane from Tudor Way to the Clicketts, as visibility pulling out of the estate at Oakridge Aces was ‘extremely limited’.

It was suggested in concerns raised by writing to Pembrokeshire County Council, that a mirror be placed opposite the Oakridge Acres junction to improve visibility, and that residents were prepared to sign a petition in support of this.

She said that there was also a suggestion that the 20 mph limit outside the schools on Heywood Lane should be extended down to The Clicketts for safety reasons

Cllr Mrs Rossiter also felt there needed to be a pavement introduced to offer youngsters a safe route to walk from the rugby field to the Clicketts playing fields.

Now County Councillor for Tenby’s North ward, Cllr Michael Williams has too flagged-up the issue with Mike Harris of the local authority’s highways development control department.

“This junction has for a number of years been of concern, in particular as you leave Oakridge Acres,” stated Cllr Williams.

“The visibility looking right as you leave the estate is extremely limited and vehicles do tend to accelerate up the hill.

“Please could you have a look to see if it can be improved?” he added.
