Safe walking routes to school: Clr. Maureen Colgan reported that Sue Lewis, the co-ordinator of The Safe Routes to School scheme, has said that provided that Pembrokeshire County Council approve of the tenders for the work of making footpaths passable in all weather conditions, and improving safety at road crossing points, then they will submit an application to the Welsh Government for funding.

Local Scout Group's initiatives: Christine John (chairman) read to the members a letter from the leaders of a local Scout Group.

The letter sets out several of the initiatives by which the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers have engaged in an effort to raise the necessary funds to enable their group to venture abroad this year.

Their efforts include bag-packing in the local stores, sponsored walks and abseiling down the walls of Pembroke Castle for the most venturesome.

Members agreed to donate £100 to the group to help them with their endeavours.

Respite from the ever-rising energy bills? Christine Gwyther (lead officer at Communities First) told the members of a new initiative to help families to ensure that their energy bills are no higher than they need be.

Communities First can advise residents about how they can save money on their energy bills, obtain a grant to help pay for a new boiler, improve the insulation of their home and much more!

All are welcome to the 'pop up energy shop' which has already been to several locations in Pembroke Dock.

To obtain wider publicity for this worthy endeavour, Christine asked for volunteers to distribute leaflets setting out the aims of the 'energy shop' around their localities.
