Lauren George, of Pembroke Dock, Ambassador for Race For Life, has been very busy this year in her roll as fundraiser for the charity which lies deeply embedded in her heart, through her family's experiences with cancer.

In all, with the help of friends and family, she has beaten her own personal record with an event she organised lately, called 'Dance for Fife'.

Held at the Pater Hall, Pembroke Dock, the event only went ahead with the help of a lot of people, including a lot of her family. To name a few of the acts and entertainers - Paul George known as Billy g, Mally George her dad Jonathan George, Phillip George, Matthew George and brother Craig George; they all entertained on the night giving up their time for Lauren.

Lauren, a keen singer/song writer herself, wrote last year's song 'Hold The Light' for Cancer Research UK, which she sang on the night and can be seen on You Tube, as well as the rest of her songs, under Lauren George.

Her cousin, Robert George, with friends Richard Mann and Johnny Gamon from (j1), supplied the door staff - a big thanks to them; also to lots of local firms for their donations and help with the raffle, and big thanks to her mum Tracy and sister Nicola for their help, and her nan, Clr. Pam George, who arranged the Pater Hall.

Lauren's fundraising has gone from strength to strength since getting over her own experience with cance. This has been recognised all the way to the top of Cancer Research UK in London, at Angel House, which Lauren visited only three weeks ago.

"When you see for yourself where the money goes and what they are doing with it to help people, I for sure will keep on trying to do my little part," she stated.

Her amount raised this year with all her events, including Race For Life, was an incredible £2,200.
