Local health campaigners are asking members of the community to go along to the next meeting of the South East Pembrokeshire Community Health Network (SEPCHN) where it is hoped an update will be provided on the planned ‘Walk In Service’ for Tenby Cottage Hospital.
The Deputy Chief Executive of the Hywel Dda University Health Board, Mr. Joe Teape, is set to address the SEPCHN group at the New Hedges Village Hall, on Tuesday (January 17) at 2 pm.
“Mr. Teape has been asked to update members with regards to the planned ‘Walk In Service’ planned for the Tenby Cottage Hospital; inform members of the present situation with regard to the appointment of GP’s in the Hywel Dda HB area and the Tenby area in particular; explain how the HB plans to tackle the problems of rurality in West Wales; describe the results of efforts to attract specialist hospital consultants and the new arrangements for paediatric services at Withybush and the future plans for the hospital,” said SEPCHN chairman, Mansel Thomas.
“Mr. Teape has also been asked to address any other questions that arise and so why not come along to the meeting and raise any local health issues you may have. All are welcome.
“The NHS is a foundation of our society on which we all depend on some time or other.
“It is under enormous strain at the present time which will require strong leadership at every level,” added Mr. Thomas.
