A woman who assaulted a police officer has pleaded guilty to the offence in court.
Twenty-two-year-old Hannah Slaymaker, of Llys Nant, Gurwen, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with assault by beating an emergency worker.
Prosecutor, Sian Vaughan told the magistrates that police were called in the early hours of September 22 to a distressed female in the Tenby area.
It was here that the defendant started to verbally abuse the police officers using foul and abusive language.
After kicking a bin in the toilets, Miss Haymaker then kicked out at a police officer striking her in the leg.
In her witness statement, the officer who was assaulted, said: “I do not come to work to get physically and verbally abused.”
The court then heard from defence solicitor Megan Williams who said her client took responsibility for her actions and she was remorseful.
She added that the defendant didn’t remember much of what happened and was upset when she learnt of what she had done.
Magistrates were then handed a letter of apology that the defendant had written to the police officer.
On sentencing Miss Haymaker, the chairman of the bench said: “You’ve got a problem and you behaved in an unlawful manner.
“I hope we don’t see you here again.”
The defendant was ordered to pay £200 in compensation to the police officer and fined £180.
She was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs, as well as a victim surcharge of £32.
