As September begins, Tenby Male Choir enters the home straight of a busy summer concert season.

On September 7, the Choir will perform at St Mary’s Church, Tenby at 7.30pm. Whilst the majority of the Choir’s concerts (12 this year) have raised funds directly for local, national or international charities and good causes, this concert is a fundraiser for the Choir itself. The high standards to which the Choir performs derive from professional musical leadership and accompaniment, the musical equipment used and the premises in which they practise, all of which the Choir have to fund year-on-year. Admission £10 on the door.

Tenby Male Choir’s September Coffee Morning will be held on Saturday, September 9 in St Mary’s Church House, Tenby at 10am. The occasion offers a chance to meet the Choir with their families and friends, and to support their work fundraising for others. It will also be an opportunity for any men interested in joining the Choir or just curious about what’s involved, to chat informally with Choristers about the challenges and rewards of singing together.

The following week sees the Choir returning to the basement lounge of the Giltar Hotel, Tenby on September 12 at 8.30pm to perform one of their popular informal concerts. Admission free, but donations will be welcomed.

Just two nights later, Tenby Male Choir will be fundraising for Parkinsons UK Cymru, who fund research into the most promising treatments and support sufferers with practical tips and guidance, volunteers to listen on the phone or in person, and opportunities to connect with other people affected. The Choir’s guest soloist will be Classical and Opera Singer and Britain's Got Talent Semi Finalist Corrin Cassini. The concert will be held in St Mary’s Church, Tenby at 7.30pm on September 14 and Admission will be £10 payable on the door.

The Choir will close their very successful summer season at a celebratory Gala Concert with Serendipity Ladies Choir at St Mary’s Church, Tenby on September 28 at 7.30pm. The evening promises to be very special with guest soloists, hopefully including the Choir’s President, Wynne Evans BEM, depending on his availability alongside his many radio and television commitments. Admission £12.50.

Tenby Male Choir’s autumn commitments include a tour to Bath, where they will sing at Bath Abbey on October 14 at 1pm, followed by an evening concert at St James Church, South Wroxall with the City of Bath Male Choir at 7.30pm. The Choir will be fundraising again for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal this year with a concert to be held on November 2 at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church, Tenby, Admission £10.
