A LLANELLI man has been sentenced for driving a compact van in Pembroke without a valid licence or insurance.

Steven O’Donnell, of Ponthenri, appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on October 20.

The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to three offences committed at Holyland Pembroke the previous day when he had driven a Kangoo VRM without third party insurance cover and without a driving licence that entitled him to drive that class of vehicle. He had also obstructed a constable in the execution of her duty.

O’Donnell was fined a total of £320 (£200 for the obstruction, £120 for the insurance infraction), plus costs of £85 and an £128 surcharge to support victim services. His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
