ON March 25, members of the Pembrokeshire fundraising group of Guide Dogs Cymru were delighted to receive an amazing donation from Soroptimist International - Haverfordwest and District.

Ruth Howells, outgoing president and Deena Irving, chair of the events committee, paid a visit to Saundersfoot last week to present a cheque for £1,700 to Eva Rich for Guide Dogs Cymru Pembrokeshire.

Guide Dogs was one of the charities chosen by president Ruth to benefit from fundraising during her year in office, it being a charity dear to the heart of her late father.

Eva thanked Ruth and all the Soroptimist members for such a fantastic donation. Having met Annette Peter and guide dog Beulah from Haverfordwest earlier in the year, Ruth and Deena enjoyed meeting Saundersfoot’s guide dog, Skip with his owner Adge John.

The presentation took place in the Regency Hall, and sincere thanks were extended to Ruth, Deena and their members with sincere appreciation from the Pembrokeshire Group and all the guide dog owners in Pembrokeshire.

The next fundraising event for the Pembrokeshire Guide Dogs group is Bingo at the Swell, Saundersfoot, on Wednesday, April 1 (fully booked).
