LLANION, The Port of Milford Haven’s new state-of-the-art pilot vessel, has arrived in Pembrokeshire following a successful delivery voyage from the Netherlands.
Its arrival marks the culmination of a five-year collaboration involving the Port of Milford Haven, BMT, Camarc Design and Next Generation Shipyards.
The Port’s team worked closely with experts at the Holland shipyard to develop a world-class craft, ensuring the vessel meets the operational needs of the waterway and delivers exceptional performance for customers.
Port of Milford Haven Chief Executive Tom Sawyer said: “This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation. Working closely with our partners and our own technical teams, we now have a vessel that reflects the highest standards of design, safety and operational capability. Llanion will play a key role in supporting the safe and reliable movement of vessels on the Milford Haven Waterway.”
Featuring the latest pilot specific hull design, self-righting ability and industry-leading safety standards, Llanion is engineered to support safe and efficient operations in all conditions.
Dirk Keizer, Technical Director at Next Generation Shipyards, commented “The building of Llanion is a project we are extremely proud of. In close collaboration with the Port of Milford Haven and the other partners, we have delivered a vessel that excels in safety, performance and reliability. This vessel reflects our commitment to innovation and quality, and we are delighted to see her now in Pembrokeshire.”
