Pembroke Soup will be hosting a Cawl Competition in the town tomorrow (Saturday) to celebrate St. David’s Day.

All are invited to go along to the event from 12 noon at Pembroke Town Hall, with eight cawls competing for Pembroke’s ‘Cawl winner 2019’.

Cawls will be provided from - Jays Sandwich Bar; Long Meadow Bakery; Tanyard Youth Centre; Rite Bites Sandwich Bar; Pembroke Castle; Waterman’s Arms; Food at Williams, and the Royal George.

There will also be vegetarian/vegan soups available as well.

Pembroke Soup’s purpose is to help and encourage community groups and this month the groups will be Welsh or Welsh speaking.

Mavis Roberts will be promoting the Day of Welsh Dance in June; Cor Dysgwyr Sir Benfro will be promoting Welsh learners singing and Beth will be promoting her learn Welsh group for young families.

There will also be entertainment from Jess Ward playing the harp; the Welsh learners choir singing; and a taste of Welsh dancing - all to fit in!

No charge for children under 10 years with adult - £4 to include soup.

On the day you can find out about Welsh projects in the Pembroke area; and silently vote for how the day’s door money is then distributed amongst those projects that are seeking funding to help them along.

All are welcome to attend.
