A 20-year-old man from Tenby has been fined in court after admitting possessing cannabis.

Daniel Thomas Fairlie, of Broadwell Hayes, pleaded guilty to possessing 10 grams of cannabis when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that officers attended the defendant’s address on March 9, for an unrelated matter.

“When they were engaged in a search of the premises, Mr. Fairlie retrieved a blue Adidas bag from between the bed and the wall, which contained six individual bags of herbal cannabis. Weighing scales were also found,” she explained.

Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told the court that Mr. Fairlie co-operated fully with the police and accepted that the cannabis was for his own recreational purposes.

Magistrates fined the defendant £135 for the offence and ordered him to pay costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

The forfeiture and destruction of the drugs and scales were also ordered.
