A teenager from Saundersfoot has been fined in court after admitting driving without due care and attention.
Eighteen-year-old Callum Dean Joslin, of Gorse Hill, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to plead guilty to the charge.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that Mr. Joslin had been pulled over by police officers in Pentlepoir on February 4.
“He had a flat tyre after hitting a curb stone, but carried on driving when he clearly shouldn’t have,” he explained.
Defence solicitor Mark Layton told the court that his client had come into contact with an island in the road, and had initially pulled over to inspect the car, but then carried on to drive some 50 metres before police stopped him.
“He shouldn’t have carried on, and it was careless for him to have driven the vehicle at all in that condition. He was not driving wildly or recklessly, it was a momentary lapse of concentration,” said Mr. Layton.
Magistrates fined Mr. Joslin £74 for the offence and endorsed his driving licence with 4 points. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
