Wisemans Bridge Rowing Club will be hoping for a repeat of last weekend’s glorious sunshine and calm seas when they host their rowing regatta on Sunday at Coppet Hall Beach Centre.

The event will attract around 200 rowers from as far and wide as Barry to the south and Aberystwyth to north of the country, with a variety of clubs in between.

This year, the club is delighted to welcome a contingent of Italian rowers from the Italian Fixed Seat Rowing Federation (FICSF) who will be travelling over for a weekend of rowing and Pembrokeshire hospitality.

The racing kicks-off at 11.30, with the ladies first, followed by the men, novices, juniors and mixed teams, providing what is hoped to be an exciting day of racing which can be easily viewed from Coppet Hall and the walkway to Saundersfoot.

Surfers Against Sewage will be organising a beach clean, while Welsh Water will be providing top-ups for the thirsty rowers’ water bottles and the RNLI will have a stand in the car park.

The rowing club would like to thank Hean Castle Estate, Coppet Hall Beach Centre, Heritage Park, Wisemans Bridge Inn, Saundersfoot Harbour Commission, Saundersfoot Sailing Club and Seal Express who are very kindly providing safety cover for the day, and The Cove Watersports Centre in Pembroke Dock for hosting the welcome dinner on Friday night. All welcome - especially if you bring a little sunshine and a gentle sea.
