South Pembs Weightlifting Club has been awarded the Disability Sport Wales insport ribbon award.

The programme, designed by Disability Sport Wales, supports clubs in developing inclusive provision, opportunity and practices which will ensure that disabled people gain access to the level of participation and performance they require.

South Pembs Weightlifting Club is a community club which has been running since 2013.

Based at Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Boxing Club, it offers inclusive fitness training, sport conditioning and weightlifting to all ages and abilities.

Angela Miles, Disability Sport Development officer for Pembrokeshire County Council, was delighted to present them with the award.

“The club works in partnership with Pembrokeshire Weightlifting club and it is great that the sport is growing with this excellent partnership ethos,” she said.
