With October upon us, bringing darker mornings and evenings, the frostbite series will only be raced every two weeks to fit in with the tides. However, there is still plenty going on at Saundersfoot Sailing Club. From Tuesday, the Wisemans Bridge rowers will be moving back into the club house for the winter. There will be much huffing and puffing as once again, the ergs are dusted off for the winter rowing sessions. Erg sessions run every Tuesday and Thursday evenings with juniors on a Friday. Contact the club if you are interested in coming along for a session.
We have two AGMs rapidly approaching at the club. WBRC have theirs on the October 20, at 7 pm, and SSC follows on November 26, straight after the last race of this year with a buffet at 12.30 for a start at 1 pm.
This year, SSC are really pleased to be taking part in the Saundersfoot trick or treat trail on October 27, starting at 6.30 pm, which precedes a Hallowe’en disco for the youngsters from 7.30 pm in the Regency Hall.
The annual SSC prize evening will take place on November 11, with further details to follow. Nearly time to polish those trophies, get them engraved and return them to the club!
Last but not least, just time to introduce myself as the new press officer for SSC. I’ve taken over from the Dizzy Rascals who have done a great job for the last season or two. I am a sailor and a rower at the club and can be seen out on the water in one type of boat or another most weekends and I’ll be hunting out the juicy gossip to pass on to you. The Frostbite series will continue with two races starting at 2.30 pm next week. See you there!
