Latest outing of the Castle inn Golf Society took place last Friday at Trefloyne Manor. Weather was set fair and the course was in excellent condition. Eighteen eager golfers took to the course in teams of three or four for a Texas Scramble

Golf was very competitive and it showed how hard everyone was trying when on the third hole Kelvin hit a tee-shot which arrowed in on the pin. Up went a roar, but hopes were dashed when the ball hit the flag pole and stayed above ground. Then, when the next group came to the same hole, George landed his tee-shot just six inches away; both got there birdie twos, though - game on.

With all but one team finishing under par for the round, it proved to be a very hard day to win, but winners were: 1. Paul, George, Kevin and Ewan with a net 63.1; 2. Mike, Dave, Keith and Richard 66.8; 3. Rob, John, Gerald and Geoff 70.1.

All the above will find it harder next time, as all will get a handicap cut!

It was then back to the Castle Inn for a wel- earned drink and some excellent food Thanks to Paul, Lorane and Amber for everything - great hosts

Thanks also to all at Trefloyne for the welcome and hospitality

Next outing will be on July 7. If interested, contact John at the Castle Inn or call the pub on 01834871268 or John on 07908439134.
