It was another weekend of postponements for the Pembrokeshire Football League, with cup and league fixtures being affected.
Kilgetty firsts, St. Clears firsts and all Narberth teams were forced to have the weekend off, with the Saints hopeful the Jesse Road pitch was playable for their derby to go ahead. Alas, the West Carmarthenshire outfit will have to wait another week or so before they can take on their rivals and former player Steve Thomas who signed for the Bluebirds recently.
In the Senior Cup, second round Hundleton secured the upset of the round by beating Tenby 3-2. Dylan Davies scored all three for the hosts in their well-deserved victory, while Sam Christopher and Sonny Phillips found the back of the net for the Seasiders.
Milford United beat Angle 1-0 after extra-time, while the game between Pendine and Monkton Swifts was postponed.
In division one, Carew secured a point against third placed West Dragons and moved off the foot of the table as a result. Haydn Shapcott scored for the hosts, although they did concede an own goal to gift the visitors a point.
Pennar Robins made the short trip to Neyland, but probably wished they hadn’t after losing against the Nomads 9-1. Patrick McDonagh scored the visitors’ solitary goal in a chastening afternoon for them.
In division three, Saundersfoot Sports’ game against Goodwick United seconds was postponed, as was Lawrenny’s game at St. Ishmaels.
In the Division Three Cup, Cosheston Cougars will have to wait until another time to play Merlins Bridge seconds, while in the league, few games went ahead due to waterlogged pitches.
Broad Haven lost 4-1 at home to Milford United seconds, while Carew seconds lost 2-1 at Camrose, Sam Harts scoring their only goal.
There were no games for Manorbier United, Saundersfoot seconds, Kilgetty, Narberth seconds or Pennar Robins’ seconds, who were due to entertain their counterparts from Hakin United.
Two goals apiece from Thomas Grimwood, Jason Evans and Sam Lewis together with solitary strikes from Gavin Wickland, Dalton Boswell and Ryan Bowen were enough for Angle seconds to secure a 9-0 win over Carew thirds, while elsewhere in the fourth division, Narberth’ thirds had their game postponed as did Pembroke Boro seconds.
St Clears’ seconds were able to play, however, and their away trip at Solva ended in a draw, the game finishing 2-2, with Andrew McCabe scoring twice for the visitors, while St. Florence won 6-3 at home against Letterston seconds after goals by Jamie Roberts, Owen Bateman, Phil Evans, Lewis Deforge and two from Colin Batley.
In the Division Five Cup first round game between Lamphey seconds and Pendine reserves, the home side came out on top 7-3. Anthony Webb scored four for the hosts, while Jake Campbell hit the net twice and Lee Pitman once, while for the Gulls, Chris Evans, Ryan Pearce and Mackie Jones all scored.
In the second round of the competition, Lawrenny seconds beat Camrose seconds 7-2 as Joe Kidney scored five and Rhys Jenkins and Harry Thomas one each.
Meanwhile, Kilgetty seconds were at West Dragons’ seconds and they lost 5-1, with Andrew Forest scoring their only goal.
Hundleton seconds’ game at Llangwm seconds was postponed.
