It was another virtual washout for the senior football programme over the weekend, with just eight of the scheduled league fixtures taking place and none of the four cup fixtures which were earmarked to be played.

With more bad weather forecast this weekend, the start to 2018 looks like being a miserable one for our clubs, not to mention the league organisers who have to arrange and re-arrange the fixtures!

In division one, only the game between Herbrandston and West Dragons took place, with the home team winning 5-4, while in division two a Jordan Gorman goal helped Kilgetty to a 1-0 win at Prendergast Villa.

Solva beat St. Ishmaels 1-0, with St. Clears drubbing Johnston 4-1 thanks to Sean Seymour-Davies, who bagged all four.

Lewis Deforge and Ashley Smith were on song for St. Florence, yet they couldn’t prevent a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Broad Haven, while in division four, Solva seconds beat Neyland seconds 6-3.

Meanwhile, in division five, Cosheston AFC beat Johnston seconds 6-3 away from home, with Pembroke Boro going down 2-1 at Letterston; Sean Edmunson scoring the away team’s only goal.
