Saturday, October 20 saw Cresselly Cricket Club hold their annual end of season dinner at the at the Beggars Reach Hotel.

Sixty or so guests, along with representatives of the club sponsors The Plough Inn Sageston and Valero, were treated to a fabulous three course meal.

After the meal the various club captains gave their feedback on what had been a successful year with the first team winning the coveted Harrison-Allen Bowl and finishing second in the league.

The second, third and ladies sides performed well throughout the year with some extraordinary performances along the way.

The traditional awards were then distributed by the team captains:

1st Team Player’s Player - Daniel Sutton; 2nd Team Pl;ayer’s Player - Neale Williams Joint 3rd Team Player’s Players - Chris Izzard and Megan Arthur; Ladies Player’s Player - Teagan Cartwright; Joint Youth Team Player’s Players - Josh Lewis and Morgan Lewis; Ladies Batting and Bowling Awards - Megan Arthur; Ladies Most Improved Player - Christine Toy; Ladies Youth Player - Jessica Lewis; The Doffo Award for most League runs - Daniel Sutton; Joyce Thomas Award for most Outfield Catches - Scott Arthur; Billy Owens Award for the highest 2nd team score - Neale Williams; Des Brace Bowling Award - Tom Arthur (7 for 47); Park House Award for a Match Winning performance - Alex Bayley; Clubman of the Year - Ivor Richards.

Congratulations were offered to Neale Williams for his selection to the Wales over 50s side to tour Australia in November.

The final prestigious DOTY Award was presented to Stefan Jenkins.

The evening ended with a Disco.
