Sunday’s London Marathon proved a day to remember for Daryl John who recorded a personal best of 2 hours and 42 minutes.

“After a couple of days being a tourist, it was great to get my Pembrokeshire Harriers vest on and head to the start line,” he said.

“I ran the first 18 miles or so with my fellow teammate Shaun Newberry, the highlight being high-fiving my wife Meinir and three daughters on Tower Bridge!

“The noise and atmosphere was electric all the way round, with constant cheers and a deafening roar which kept me going through the tough last few miles to get me a PB of 2:42. A race to remember!” said Daryl.

“It was my first time at the London marathon and what an experience it was, massive crowds and running past iconic London landmarks in the one of the worlds biggest marathons helped achieve a massive PB of 2.39 and qualify me for the British champs next year in London,” said Shaun
