In March 2020, at the start of the Covid crisis, Tenby was about to submit its application to be a Dementia Friendly Town, but all of this work had to be put on hold due to the pandemic.

Now the Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall is keen to relaunch the initiative, stating: “There is never a more important time to take this work forward.

“This is about helping people that live here first and foremost. But it will also help people visiting to know that businesses and places have made adjustments to help people living with dementia and their Carers.”

Working with PAVS a meeting has been called to look at the work done so far, what is needed to be done, and what has changed since the Covid crisis began.

A meeting will be held online, with all people, organisations and businesses who are interested in coming together to achieve Dementia Friendly Status.

Staff from Alzheimer’s UK will be invited to the meeting which will take place at 6.30 pm on Wednesday, November 3.
