A leading county environmentalist will be sharing his experiences about life on a Pembrokeshire island this week.

David Saunders will be speaking at Pembroke Dock Library today (Friday).

In 1960, he became the first warden of Skomer Island spending his time surrounded by seabirds, grey seals and the unique Skomer vole.

David will be discussing his seven years spent living on the island along with his wife and two small children - the only human inhabitants.

Today he writes regularly for 'Bird Watching' magazine and has published a number of books including the 'RSPB Guide to British Birds'.

His lifetime in wildlife conservation led to the award of an MBE.

The event is free to attend and begins at 7.30 pm.
