On Saturday, Mayor of Pembroke Dock, Clr. Peter Kraus, was invited together with the vice-chairman of Milford Haven Port Authority and the chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, to join the captain, crew and guests aboard the Hebridean Princess which docked at the Port of Pembroke.
“What a warm welcome by the captain Trevor Bailey,” said Clr. Kraus.
“We were shown around the whole ship which was twice used by royalty. What a pleasure; it was immaculate.”
He continued: “Considering that the ship was built in 1964, it had no looks of wear and tear whatsoever.
“We had refreshments during our visit, followed by exchanging gifts from the relevant organisations.
“The captain even commented on the hospitality and the greeting on arrival in Pembroke Dock which was first class.
“Well done Milford Port Authority and Pembrokeshire County Council.”
Clr. Kraus added: “On Sunday morning at 6.45 am, I saw off the ship which was then heading for Fishguard.
“It is great to see these lovely cruise ships coming to our port. Let us hope lots more will come in years to come. We have so much maritime and local history for visitors to see in our towns.”
