The Milford Haven Sunderland continues to give up its treasures.
Latest recoveries made by the Sunderland Trust Dive Group from the site of Sunderland T9044 are major components of the front turret, including the actual turret ring.
A now unique example of the power-operated turret made by the Frazer-Nash company, this was a sophisticated piece of engineering for the 1930s and provided the Sunderland with defensive fire from the front of the aircraft.
It was brought to the surface by the Dive Group who have this year recovered many more items from the wartime survivor, which sank off Pembroke Dock in a gale 74 years ago.
Currently the turret parts are in fresh water tanks to remove salt and will be worked upon by the workshop volunteers at the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre in the Royal Dockyard Chapel.
