Tori James, the first Welsh woman to climb Mount Everest, returned home to her roots this month to address the popular Pembrokeshire Four Seasons Business Lunch.
Held at Trefloyne Manor in the beautiful Tenby countryside, 60 local business people across Pembrokeshire gathered to hear Tori’s story and network with other businesses.
The informal event was hosted by local businesses Thomas Carroll, JCP Solicitors, Pembrokeshire Tourism, and Ashmole and Co, with support from media sponsor Radio Pembrokeshire.
Simon Lawrence, regional director at Thomas Carroll Group, Haverfordwest, said: “Throughout the year the Pembrokeshire Four Seasons Business Lunch partners enjoy attracting top speakers to our relaxed networking event. It works well for the local business community to get together every few months and meet new faces. Tori James was inspirational and it’s always extra special when you invite successful speakers back to their roots.”
Well known for her BBC documentary On Top of the World, Tori has taken on a race to the Magnetic North Pole and a cycle from the North to the South of New Zealand. She has recently become an ambassador for The Duke of Edinburgh Award and its Diamond Challenge. Tori James is encouraging everyone to step out from behind their desks and take on a challenge of a lifetime.
Tori said: “I want to enthuse people to get out and discover their own sense of adventure - while helping to create opportunities for disadvantaged young people along the way.”
The next event will be held on September 16 when Pembrokeshire National Park ranger, Ian Meopham will be welcomed. To book your place contact any of the four sponsors to be added to the mailing list.E
