On Monday, August 8, after the usual coffee morning, everyone at the Tenby Project undertook Dementia Friendly Training with Cherry from PAVS. Everyone was very interested in learning how to best help people with dementia when they come to the coffee mornings, and the Tenby Project is going to register as the very first Dementia Friendly organisation in Tenby.

On Monday, August 15, the coffee morning had to be cancelled, as it was time for the bimonthly trip out with Green Dragon community transport. First stop was the Town Museum in Pembroke which was very interesting, and included the magistrate’s bench, a ship’s wheel, some Haggar silent movies to watch, and a selection of vintage toys!

After a brief foray up Pembroke’s Main Street, it was back to the minibus and out to Angle for a leisurely lunch. This was had in the Wavecrest Café on West Angle Beach who were most welcoming, and the food was delicious.

Back to Tenby, the group spent the last hour testing out a new game found in a charity shop that day, and it turned out to be great fun!

This Monday, August 22, there will be a coffee morning as usual, and after lunch, the Tenby Project will be heading up to the museum to find out a bit about the history of Tenby. Everyone is welcome to the coffee morning from 11am in Augustus Place Community Hall, and people are welcome to join us on our visit to the museum if they wish, just come to Augustus Place by 1.30pm.

The Tenby Project would be pleased to have some more adults with learning disabilities to help with the coffee mornings and to join in the afternoon activities. It is free to come along, but a contribution is made for tea and coffee, and for joining with a shared lunch.

Contact Anne on 01834 844002 for more details, or just come along from 10am on a Monday.
