The organisers of a popular street food festival that has been held alongside Tenby’s South Beach for the past three years, have conceded that this year’s planned event will now not take place.

The Street Food Warehouse Team had hoped to stage the three-day event which invites a variety of food vendors and attracts a wealth of visitors next month, after cancelling the original date in June due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

However, they announced yesterday (Wednesday) that it was with a ‘heavy heart’ that the Pembrokeshire Street Food Festival 2020 will be postponed until 2021.

“We have done everything we can for this event to take place and have been working alongside authoritative bodies to be able to organise a safe event, but with the people of Tenby being our main priority, and that of Pembrokeshire County Council, we will be postponing this event until June 2021,” said a spokesperson for the Street Food Warehouse Team.

“We are absolutely gutted that we won’t be bringing our collective of street food to South Beach, but ultimately this is the best decision for the safety of all involved.

“This decision has been completely out of our hands and we are incredibly disappointed, as we are sure you will be too.

“We cannot wait to return to Tenby South Beach in 2021, and we’ll be back and better than ever,” they added.
