Tenby Beer Festival is off for another year, after the organisers took the decision to postpone the event scheduled to be held at the De Valence in November.
It’s the second year running that Tenby Round Table have had to cancel the Festival over the course of the pandemic, but have promised to make it up, by hosting two events in 2022.
“Unfortunately, with the changing guidance on Covid passes and rising case numbers, we have taken the decision to postpone this year’s charity beer festival until the spring,” said a spokesperson for Tenby Round Table.
“This event is put on by volunteers from our community, for our community, and we feel that the timing is still not right to bring such a large event back to our town.
“Although we fully believe that the De Valance is well prepared for hosting large events, the Beer Festival brings its own challenges in terms of organisation and crowd control.
“However, the good news is that we are planning to hold two beer festivals in 2022 to make up for this – one in the spring and one in the autumn!
“We would rather wait a few more months to be able to put on an event when Covid case numbers are hopefully falling rather than rising in our town.
“Thank you for your continued support and understanding. We look forward to seeing you soon!” they added.
With the Round Table’s fundraising hit by the cancellation of the popular Summer Spectaculars at Tenby harbour for two successive Augusts, the charity organisation has asked anyone who wishes to donate to help them put on the Beer Festival event, to head to the following link: shorturl.at/wxzR7
Any companies that are able to sponsor a barrel for the upcoming events, are also asked to please get in touch with Round Tablers.
