Tenby In Bloom’s winners were awarded this week for their tremendous floral efforts over the summer with a presentation ceremony.
The contest returned this summer with a wealth of entrants playing their part to help the town keep its famous reputation as one of the best floral seaside resorts in Wales.
The competition took a break last year due to the pandemic and Covid restrictions, but the coastal town’s householders, hotels, guest houses, public houses, restaurants and shops pulled out all the stops once again for 2021, to make Tenby look blooming great!
The competition has resulted in very high standards of displays in recent years, and although there is a competitive element in that there are trophies awarded, everyone who enters has a certificate featuring their own floral displays and a silver, silver gilt or gold award.
“I would like to thank everyone who made the effort this year - under extremely uncertain times, especially for the businesses in the town, but they all pulled out all the stops to make Tenby such an inviting place to visit!” said Tenby in Bloom committee chair Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane at the awards ceremony held at Tenby House Hotel in Tudor Square on Wednesday.
“Huge thanks also goes to Pembrokeshire County Council’s ground maintenance team for their efforts again this year.
“Once again I am extremely grateful to everyone who made this year’s competition worthwhile. “We look forward to visiting your gardens and premises next year!” she added.
The Serendipity Holdings Rose Bowl, presented to the overall winner with highest points, went to Mr. and Mrs. Thornton of Narberth Road.
