Pembroke Town Hall was filled to the full on Saturday, November 30, as 'Showpeace', a new Christian band organised by local Ghanaian musician Jerby Djkoto, held its first ever concert.
"The evening was a huge success," said Pastor Rob James, the Pastor of Westgate Chapel, Pembroke, where Jerby and the band worship and practice.
"Jerby has been such an exhilarating addition to our congregation over this past year, and both his enthusiasm and his musical expertise are God-given gifts that are blessing us enormously."
He continued: "We are truly thankful to all those who worked so hard to make the night such a success, and I must add that 'Showpeace' were more than admirably supported by the Griffon Choir. It was a privilege to have them there and their customary excellence ensured that the night turned out to be all we would want to be.
"This was not a fund-raising event; it was a celebration of Christmas. But we were delighted that those who attended gave more than £100 towards the work of Tearfund. We are now eagerly anticipating Showpeace's next event planned for Easter 2014. I know Jerby has great expectations for the future and given what has happened so far, so do we."
