Pembrokeshire Coast National Park has announced that it has closed sections of the coast path in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

On Tuesday, Ministers in the Welsh Assembly brought in regulations under Section 45 of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 and the Health Protection (Coronavirus: Closure of Leisure Businesses, Footpaths and Access Land) (Wales) Regulations 2020.

In accordance with the regulations the National Park Authority is required to close certain public footpaths during an emergency where it considers that such public footpaths will be liable to large numbers of people congregating or being in close proximity to each other, or the use of such public footpaths poses a high risk to the incidence or spread of infection with the coronavirus.

The following sections of the coast path that have been closed in South Pembrokeshire are as follows: Angle, Castlemartin, Stackpole, Lamphey, Manorbier, Penally, Saundersfoot, Tenby Town, St Mary Out Liberty (New Hedges), Saundersfoot and Amroth.

Full details of the coast path closures can be found on the National Park Authority’s website: https://www.pembrokeshirecoast.wales/default.asp?PID=67&NewsItem=1946
