Saundersfoot is getting ready for a celebration of all things Welsh to mark the country’s national day.
Saturday will see the village’s legendary cawl trail complemented by a Welshfest featuring produce and products made and grown in the locality, together with music, traditional costume and a dragon trail.
Organised by Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism, the day will centre on the annual Cawl Cooking Championship of the World....and Elsewhere.
Seven eating establishments in the village will be bidding for the title, which is judged on the taste-test of the public.
The Old Chemist Inn will be hoping for honours for the fourth year in succession, but there will be keen challenges from The Regency Hall, Philly’s, The Mulberry, Beachside Barbecue, The Salvage Bar and The Boat House.
Commemorative cawl bowls go on sale on the Harbour Decking from 11am, with the cawl trail taking place between noon and 3pm.
The winners of the championship, the children’s fancy dress competition and the dragon trail will be announced in the finale of the Welshfest which runs from 11am to 4pm at the Regency Hall.
