A ‘time-frame’ for reopening waste and recycling centres in Pembrokeshire has not yet been agreed, the county council has said.
With some sites reopening in England speculation of when local sites will reopen has increased but the decision is being considered on a Wales-wide basis.
All waste and recycling centres in the county, and the rest of the county, were closed in accordance with government guidelines on non-essential travel during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown period.
A Pembrokeshire County Council spokesman said: “How and when these facilities will re-open is currently being considered on an all-Wales basis by all Welsh local authorities in conjunction with Welsh Government.
“The timescale associated with re-opening has not been agreed at this stage.
“However, Pembrokeshire County Council has started to consider recovery ideas but they are very dependent on guidance from the UK and Wales governments as well as any accompanying regulation.”
Pembrokeshire’s waste collection service has remained unchanged during the lockdown while other areas of the country have seen a modified service.
