A record number of nominations have been submitted for the Sport Pembrokeshire Awards 2015.

A total of 146 nominations have been put forward for sportsmen and women, youngsters, coaches and volunteers.

Councillor Elwyn Morse, Cabinet Member for Culture, Sport and Leisure, said he welcomed another strong year for the awards.

“The huge number of nominations is a reflection of the success of not only individual and team sport, but of the solid network of community sports clubs in Pembrokeshire,” he said.

Three finalists in each of the 12 categories will be confirmed soon, and the winners will be announced at a grand awards ceremony on November 27 at Folly Farm.

The awards ceremony is organised by Sport Pembrokeshire -Pembrokeshire County Council’s sports development team – and all nominees are invited, along with their guests.

If any other member of the County’s sporting fraternity would like to come, please contact Sport Pembrokeshire on 01437 776191 soon, as places are limited.

Ben Field, Manager of Sport Pembrokeshire, said: “These awards are a great chance to celebrate the success of sportspeople in Pembrokeshire and recognise the huge commitment of the many coaches, teachers, and organisers behind the scenes.

“I would like to thank our sponsors Valero, The Western Telegraph, Folly Farm and Radio Pembrokeshire for their support.”
