A group of pupils from Year 4 of Golden Grove School-Ysgol Gelli Aur in Pembroke recently celebrated a successful start to a project with Greenlinks, of Pembroke.

So far this term, the pupils, who are following a John Muir Award study scheme, have learned skills around woodland preservation, tree-felling, safe use of tools, care of farm animals, care of pets and have made individual daffodil planters.

The pupils enjoyed a woodland session at the end of the half-term which culminated in a barbecue provided by some Year 12 pupils of Pembroke School.

The pupils involved are keeping a journal of the work being carried out, all of which is done under the guidance of Adam Cumine, of Greenlinks.

Over the coming weeks, the pupils will be consolidating on the work carried out in the school woodland area.
