A meeting in Tenby to discuss plans for the Brynhir development has been further delayed.
The discussions where members of Tenby Town Council were due to meet with representatives from Pembrokeshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, and prospective developers, were recently postponed and rescheduled for the end of April.
However, at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Andrew Davies, told members that the meeting had been further put off, due to National Park representatives not being available.
He also explained that PCC now felt that as they were only at the preferred developer stage, it may be better to hold off on holding a meeting for a while until the position was clearer.
Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown remarked that she hoped that PCC were not trying to shut the town council out.
“What decisions are they making now with the developer?
“We want to be part and parcel of these discussions, otherwise as councillors we can’t answer any questions asked of us about Brynhir from the town’s people,” she said.
Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter told her colleagues that campaigners against the development had erected signs around the field stating reasons why the land should be left untouched.
“These people are really passionate about what is the last piece of green land in the area, and some of the signs are heart-breaking to read,” she remarked.

Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall agreed that the town council would like to still be involved with any discussions that take place on the development - “sooner rather than later,” he stated.
