Last Thursday, the two school ambassadors, Joe and Kyle, represented Lamphey Primary School at Margam Park, near Port Talbot. The two ambassadors met Keith Towler and discussed the rights of the child and the impact these rights are having within the local community.
This year, the ambassadors, working closely with the school council, have been giving presentations during assemblies regarding the rights of the child, discussed health and safety concerns with the governing body and have undertaken an audit of the school premises.
They highlighted the need to open up the wildlife area at the school so that children are able to explore and enjoy the school environment, and are now in the process of raising money for the British Heart Foundation and the school by organising a skipping challenge event which will be held after half-term at the school.
Pembrokeshire Valero Primary Schools Music Festival
Recently pupils from Lamphey Primary School participated in the Valero Primary Schools Music Festival, held at Sir Thomas Picton School in Haverfordwest. We would like to congratulate Kyle, Sam, Bethan and Georgia for performing to a very high standard, especially Kyle, who came first in woodwind (grade 3), and Sam, who finished second in clarinet and saxophone (grade 2).
