Pembrokeshire-based artist Linda Norris is showing her new work in glass alongside work by 15 women artists from around the world in an exhibition which marks a new departure for her gallery in Pembrokeshire.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Linda is organising the exhibition to co- incide with an evening event, Hidden Women/Merched Cudd, which features performances by Welsh poets Menna Elfyn, Mererid Hopwood and Gwenno Dafydd in Maenclochog Community Hall.

“I wanted to create an opportunity to show the work of women artists working internationally in the small North Pembrokeshire village where I live and work. It is very exciting to be receiving work from New York, Shetland and Japan, among other places. I will be showing work by established artists like Julia Griffiths Jones and Emma Woffenden, both of whom have an international profile and have work in the collection of the V&A museum, alongside that of less experienced local artists like Sam Vicary and Ruth Sargeant who are building their practice.”

The exhibition celebrates International Women’s Day and features work in glass, textile, metal, print and video, reflecting the diverse practice of the women in the show. The quality of both the ideas and execution in the work is testament to the skills and hard work of women artists working globally today.

The exhibition at Oriel Linda Norris Gallery opens with a preview on March 15 and is open from 10 am - 6 pm on March 16 and 17, and from March 17 - 31 in person by arrangement and online.

Featured artists are: Cathryn Shilling, Emma Woffenden, Helen Pailing, Jacqueline Martin, Jancis Vaughan, Jane Bruce, Julia Griffiths Jones, Kaori Maeda, Karen Browning, Linda Norris, Nancy Sutcliffe, Niela Kalra, Rachel Phillips, Ruth Sargeant, Sam Vicary and Sara Fell.
