The Mayor of Pembroke Dock and Pembroke visited the forecourt of St. Andrew’s Chapel on Saturday to lay wreaths for the first time where two stones commemorating the fallen of the Great War have been placed.

Pembroke Town Council continued its work from 2018 with a committee of councillors and community volunteers to ensure that the town remembers the fallen, and contacted Mr. Michael Haste - the owner of the property, who welcomed the idea of formally recognising these memorials for Remembrance.

The stones were placed to commemorate members of the congregation that fell in both World War I and II.

Prior to Remembrance weekend, Mr. Haste had spent time tidying up the area around the stones as it had become very overgrown and neglected in the time before he purchased the property.

The Town Council are very grateful to Mr. Haste for the effort he has spent in making the memorials visible again.
