The mother of a three-year-old boy who tragically died following a collision with a vehicle in the Clynderwen area on Tuesday night, has paid tribute to her ‘kind, inspirational’ son.
Dyfed-Powys Police was alerted to a collision involving a vehicle and a child at a private property in the Clynderwen area at approximately 7 pm on August 3.
Sadly, Ianto Sior Jenkins died at the scene a result of the incident, Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed the following day.
Ianto’s mum, Chloe Picton paid the following tribute today (Friday, August 6): “Ianto was my blue eyed boy, he was inspiration to life, he was a kind little boy who was always smiling and laughing.
“His best friend was his older sister Seren, who were always joined at the hip. Ianto loved going to nursery and was excited to start his first day at school in Ysgol Beca in Efailwen in September.
“He loved being out on the farm and going on the tractor with his daddy. Ianto and I had a very strong bond, he was ‘Mummy’s little boy’ and was always by my side everywhere we went, now that’s been taken from me.
“No parent should lose a child and I would like people to respect our wishes, giving us space at this very difficult, heart breaking time,” she added.
Clr, Huw George who represents the Clynderwen area, stated that the community would ‘stand together’ after the tragedy.
“The agricultural community is one that’ll stand together, and the community at the moment are standing back because of what the family has to deal with,” he said.
“And when they’re ready, the community will stand up and do what needs to be done. That is the way this community works.”
