This year's midwinter festival in Pembroke Dock promises to be the best yet! Hundreds of schoolchildren in the town have been beavering away making lanterns to carry in the Grand Lantern Parade next Friday evening, December 7. The theme this year is 'Merry Christmas Everybody' and there will be some giant Christmas lanterns to set off the parade, accompanied by masses of 'little angel' lanterns.
Make your own 'little angel' lantern: Why not pop along to the Youth Centre, Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, tomorrow (Saturday) or Sunday (10 am - 4 pm each day) to make your own 'little angel' lantern? All materials and training are absolutely free, and after the parade you can re-use the little angels to light up your own home.
Join in the parade: The Lantern Parade will take place on Friday evening, December 7 (meeting at 5.30 pm and setting off at 6 pm from the Youth Centre in Bush Street) accompanied by the ATC Band. So why not go along and join in or watch. The parade will go through the town and end up in Western Way with Father Christmas, Cleddau FM music, choirs, and the ATC Band. Seasonal refreshments will be available.
Fireworks display: It wouldn't be Midwinter in Pembroke Dock without fireworks! Pembroke Dock loves them! So a Grand Firework Display will finish the evening off with a bang. All are welcome.
