A Pembroke Dock man has been fined for possessing cannabis after police carried out a search of his premises.
Thirty-five-year-old Paul Barry Quinn, of Wesley Court, pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of 1.3 grammes of herbal cannabis, when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday.
Magistrates were told by the prosecution that on Tuesday, June 18, police executed a search warrant on the defendant's property and found a plastic tube under a sink cupboard that contained 'Thai bush' cannabis.
Mr. Quinn also handed over a tub which contained more cannabis and admitted to officers that it was for his own personal use.
His solicitor, Mr. James Subbiani, said that his client had been wholly co-operative with police during the search and explained that he infrequently smoked the drug to help combat problems he suffered with arthritis.
Magistrates fined Mr. Quinn £75, ordered him to pay costs of £85, a £15 victim surcharge, and also made a destruction order for the drugs.
